Digital illustration in byzantine iconography style. I begun from a real icon as a reference. I then gradually started designing and vectorising it. Finally in a bitmap environment again, so I could make the forms softer and add a gold background texture.

On this project I had to create a logo and a business card for Fotis Kalovedouris. Fotis makes wooden stairs. I took advantage of the letter "Φ". Φ is the letter that represents the golden ratio and it is also the first letter on Fotis's name. So I created a spiral close to a "Φ" only with stairs.

Once I created the logo for "Δελφική Γη", it was time to create the packaging. I created a label with a vector illustration of people collecting olives with the traditional method. This was also a nice excuse to practise my 3D skills so I can make a better presentation of my work.

I was asked to create a logo for a brand that produces olives coming from the lands of Delphi. So I created the logo based on an olive tree that rotates trying to follow the sun light.

These coffee drinking paper cups were a nice excuse to get creative. I was asked to create an urban scenery with vector graphics that would depict young people on everyday fun activities. I begun by creating rough sketches to get the basic ideas of what I was going for. Once I had the basic characters hand drawn, I continued on vectorising them on the computer. I think the result came out really interesting.

This is a work that didn't go on air after all but it was a pretty interesting project for me.

I had to create an illustration as a front cover of the annual notebook of Diadrasi.

Diadrasi is a private school that prepares students for the exams, in order for them to achieve their entrance in the universities.

My friend Kostas Annikas is a Greek woodturner and craftsman based on Kefalonia island. He creates beautiful works of art out of wood and also sells tools and accessories for woodturners.  

I used his original logo, his face, the map of Kefalonia and two really distinct woodturning tools, to create a modern logo for him.

Every year Art street 52 and Greek Woodturners team gather together and make spinning tops. The tops are then donated to a non profit organisation for a good cause. To celebrate the event they organise a top battle on which winners get small gifts as memorials of the event. 

I designed vector characters that are both fighters and spinning tops. It's a viking, a wrestler and a ninja character. It is always a lot of fun for me to design for such events.

Creating a small book as a personalized wedding gift

This was a really interesting project. My friend Ioanna came up with a very interesting concept for a wedding gift. The friends and relatives of the couple wrote small stories about the groom and bride. All the stories are connected through a word or phrase that the previous writer passes to the next.

So we collected all those stories and created a small book. The book is the actual present and it is the outcome of the collaborative work of all the friends and relatives.

We enriched the layout with colorful illustrations inspired by the stories.

The illustrations are first roughly hand sketched on paper. After scanning, each illustration is redesigned with the pen tablet in vector form. Photographs were also used as references.

It came out really sweet, I hope you like it!

Creative two color baby on board vinyl sticker

This is a creative way to inform other drivers that you carry a baby on your car.

It is actually a two color vinyl sticker. The base color is fluo yellow and the top vinyl is black.

Especially the fluo gives the sticker great visibility from a long distance.

Improvised surreal illustration

This is an improvised illustration. It begun as a pencil sketch. Then the sketch was scanned and the basic vector lines were designed over it. I finished the illustration by adding the colors the shadows and the highlights in separate layers.

I usually create these illustrations beginning from a key element and then building the rest around it. In this situation the improvisation begun from the little tower in the low right corner.

It has not a specific meaning. With these kind of illustrations I want to trigger thoughts in the viewer's mind in a dialectic way between the art and the person.

This infographic is created in order to explain the "cotton field trials and seed processing" for Phytotesting.

All the graphic elements are vector and created as simple as possible, in order for the viewer to understand a complex scientific procedure easily.

Phytotesting offers a range of cottom breeding and variety evaluation services.

Logo and guidelines for "Thessalia" butcher shop

I was asked to create a logo for the traditional butcher shop "Thessalia".

The logo is based in the aesthetics of etching in order to express the fact that the shop is traditional and has a history of many years.

I have also added elements that express the origins of it's brand name which is  Thessalia area in Greece. I have also added the basic tools of a butcher shop.

Because the logo is fairly complicated I have also created a simpler version of it, in order to cover many cases in it's application.

Rory Gallagher illustration

The legendary Irish guitarist has inspired me so much with his art and blues. This illustration is my tribute to his music. Rory loved to perform so I wanted this illustration to try to catch the  "live moment". I hope I achieved my goal! Rory will alway be with us through his musical craftsmanship.

Redesigning Giaola logo for special days

Giaola needed to make special logos for special days of the year. 

To do that we first needed a design strategy. So we decided that we would keep the main forms of giaola but we would add design elements that are in line with the aesthetics of the logo.

We also added a relevant page to giaola brand manual.

I also add the original giaola logo.

This is a process that goes on until today. 

For a creative graphic designer, designing signs is very interesting job and opens up great creative opportunities.
